I only got one, she seems fine so far, but I’m wondering if I should get another one to keep her company. Should I? Or will she be fine by herself?
Can chickens be housetrained or something? I’m planning on letting her be in the house every now and then, and I really would not like chicken droppings on the floor…
Can chickens be trained to do stuff? Do they make “loyal” pets?

I’d get another…a single chicken won’t be happy, they’ll like the company. And if they’re outside roaming, it will be twice the bug control.
Housebreaking will be hard, if possible at all. They really don’t care where they “go” and there’s no warning…they just “go”.
Chickens definately can distinguish between people. It all depends on the temperament of the chicken how pleasant they’ll be. My leghorns and australorps were wonderful…very friendly, especially towards me. My reds were a different story….the knew me apart from the others, but they were aggressive…they chased me constantly

it sounds like a rhode island red and they are very pretty but the roosters are better looking but very mean. um chickens aren’t that smart and i don’t believe they can be trained to go to a litter box but my friend had a house trained duck only because it believed that her dog was it’s mother and copied everything it did. chicken poo is very gross and only serves a great fertilizer beu they should stay outside when full grown.
Well, the only ‘O’ breeds that I can think of are Old English Game, Orpington and Orloff.
I’d guess that you have an Orpington, as they are fairly common and the black ones do have a greenish tint to them in the sun.
You should definitely get another one. A single chicken is a depressed chicken. And a stressed chicken as well. Chickens are definitely flock birds and most definitely do best with atleast one companion.
Chickens can not be house trained. As with all birds, they do not have the muscles that humans, dogs, cats, etc… have to “hold it in”. They have no control what so ever as to where they go to the bathroom or when they go to the bathroom. There are these little “Poultry Diapers” that can be used, but honestly, changing a chickens diaper over and over and over and over and over and over and over doesn’t seem like a lot of fun.

Chickens, as well as most poultry aren’t exactly the most trainable animals. They dont really have a real will do learn tricks and the likes.
They aren’t really the loyalist of animals either. If you want a “loyal” bird, I’d get a goose!
