Easter egg hunt with my stepson this weekend. Easter dinner is postponed until next weekend for me. So I am having the family over. I am making a turkey, mashed potatoes, yams, stuffing, mixed veggies, buns, and my sister is bringing a ham. Parents are bringing dessert so its a surprise!
We are getting together at my house.I am the Moma.I buy little suits for all the young ones.First they find the eggs and then we eat and play games. This year I am not up to par.So I ordered fried chicken.I will make potato salad, baked beans, green salad, deviled eggs and a wide variety of cookies. We nibble all day so the cookies are a plus.We have 5 toddlers under 4,so we will have a blast.Happy Easter to you.Good question.
Yes we celebrate Easter. In the morning when my four children awaken they will have big Easter baskets waiting for them that I filled up with toys and a little candy. Then we will paint and decorate eggs to give to family that lives close by. We have a big breakfast (Pancakes, eggs, bacon, fruit). Then we go to church. That is the most important part. Then we will have an egg hunt. I hide plastic eggs around the outside of the house that are filled with change, and candy. The kids have a lot of fun searching for them. We end the day with a big dinner of turkey, stuffing, baked macaroni and cheese, collard greens, potato salad, salad, cornbread, and pies. Like thanksgiving all over again…for a better reason! I like to let the kids know the importance of this special holiday.
